The Philippine National Police has put more than 141,000 security personnel in place as millions of people travel to the provinces and cemeteries for Undas, Manila Bulletin reports. The mobilization covers the annual observance when Filipinos visit graves and return to their home provinces.
According to Philstar.com, the PNP said Undas is secured and that the number of travelers is approaching two million. The figure was reported alongside the deployment total.
Other agencies are also adding staff. In Antique, 42 police officers have been deputized to support the Land Transportation Office during the period, the Philippine News Agency reports. In Parañaque, the local government plans to field more than 1,100 personnel, according to BusinessMirror.
Inquirer.net is running live updates on Undas 2026, suggesting conditions on the ground are changing as the observance continues.
The reporting does not specify how the 141,000-plus personnel are distributed across regions, how long the deployment will last, or how the traveler count is being measured.
Watch for updated traveler figures and any changes to the security posture as the Undas period continues.
